I would like to start some sort of photography course. The main stumbling block I've got is I work shifts (double days) which means 1 week in 2 I'm on lates and would'nt be able to make a night class. I started noseying around on the tinternet and came up with a few options one of them was this place, what are your thoughts? its fairly local ish.... for me.

The wife wants to treat me for Xmas, so she thought of this place. I think I would do the Studio Portrait/Wedding option as I would like to get to grips with studio work and lighting, as I've never took pics in a studio environment.

Took the plunge, got the last place on a 1 day Studio Portrait Course on the 20th of Nov. I'm really looking forward to it.

Let us know how you get on,
I drive past there every day on my way to work!
Have seen it before.. same as everything else, finding the time! :)

Good luck i hope it goes well :) I saw this on the internet the other day it does look really good :)

Thanks, fingers crossed i should get a lot out of it, as I know jack about setting up studio lighting etc. and with it being a full day too, should get a lot of hands on stuff. (Not the model before anyone says it :rules: )

Any chance of a review of the course once you have done it Glen, I'd be really intersted find out what it was like.

Wonder if they give disounts for group bookings, if enough people on the forum want to do it after you have

No probs, sounds like a good idea with the group booking, I'll put the feelers out when I go.

If I like this course, I fancy doing the weddings 2-3 day or possibly the landscape one after Xmas.

I did the landscape course with them in July and it was BRILL. There was a good mix of beginners and more experienced in the group, the tutors were super and very patient. The accommodation was excellent and they booked us into a different pub each night for a meal, so we didn't have to worry about not knowing the area. I learned such a lot, especially the day on the computers, and would honestly do it all again, just because now I have a bit more experience, I think I'd get even more out of it.

You will have a really good time with them.

Tomorrows the day!, feeling a bit nervous, don't know why? I've got everything packed, all my lenses, 3 batteries (fully charged), tripod and 4 memory cards, oh! and my camera  But seriously looking foward to it

Judging by the weather outside I'm glad I'm not doing the landscape course  Nice warm studio all day (hopefully).

I'd still tale a brolly :)

Have fun and learn lots

cheers m'dear, will spill the beans when I get home tomorrow night. :D

Simon is nuts....but really nice with it; he's seriously stuck in the 70's!! I have just had their newsletter re a trip to Nepal......too energetic for me but his pics look great. I'm sure you are going to love it. Have a good time.
