I've got a few family birthdays coming up and was asked to take some photo's, I suggested a photo booth (stand and backdrop) and told them what it involved and what goes with it. I've never done anything like this before so would appreciate some advice on equipment, set up etc. You never know I might like it so much that it becomes a regular thing.
 
I used to work for a photo booth company, and a lot goes into it and there is a lot of competition. However it's my opinion that open space sets are better than traditional photo booths, especially when you throw in the accessories (don't go for cheap stuff from pound shops, look online for quality stuff) such as masquerade masks, glasses, moustashes on sticks, even go for themes ie. pirates, vintage, circus, etc. Most companies include instant prints and a guest book as part of the package, so you'll need to invest in a good printer. I'm happy to provide further advice in a PM.

As a guide, most (good) photo booth companies charge £450-£600 for 3 hours, some are even higher. You could afford to charge more dependent on the backdrops, accessories and what's included in the package.
 
Thanks for replying Dawn, like you I think the open space sets are better and have been scouring the web for lights and backdrop stands. All of what you have said is the way I want to do it. Been thinking about it and I'd really like to make a serious go at this, so if you don't mind sending me a PM with what you know or recommend I'll come back with some questions.

Depends what kind of service they want - the rental ones usually print there and then, often 2-copies, one for the guests, one for the B&G.

I set one up for my own wedding; backdrop & frame, 2x flashes, wireless remote... Then compiled the pictures myself
