Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on places that produce great photo books. I want to get one made as a Xmas present. I have found a few places that do it, would like to be able to control the layout myself. Looking at about 25 - 35 pages.

Cheers,
Will

Just got one back today from CEWE and I'm pleased with it. £30ish for 30 pages A4 landscape hardback.

Thank you. Looks good, and 20% off 1st order is also nice.

Downloaded and like the layout options.

Thank you

Just google photobooks - there are loads of suppliers now

I am looking for similar, will probably do a Loxley book as I use them for other stuff but would be nice to know if anyone can recommend someone.

Guess I want around 500 pics in the book, some large, some small, and the most important thing is quality - not price, although would like to keep to below £100 per book ideally.

Looking at the app, they have two types of book. Photo Paper or standard. What is the difference ?

I used blurb for one recently. They have loads of size and paper options and the software allows you complete control over the layout. Best of all everyone was very pleased with the results!

I had a CEWE one done not so long ago and wasn't all that impressed to be honest. The colour reproduction was good but the resolution wasn't, especially with skin tones in darker parts. Lacked detail. The layout program was quite good though once you get the hang of it.

Snapfish (HP) was cheap and very quick. The resolution was good, but I am not sure about the colour reproduction.
They had an 'offer' to get photographs done of each page at the same time as the book was created.
The book looks like I thought it would on the screen, but the photographs look way over-cooked.

So either the book was too light, and my screen shows images too light, (and thus the photos were correct), or the photos were rubbish.

The book looks nice, and was pretty cheap.

Well I have designed and ordered mine from CEWE, so will see. Thanks for all the advice.

Just had one done by photobox, very pleased with the quality for the price however they have made a bit of a cock up with the layout on a couple of pages - have emailed but no reply as of yet..

i would recommend Photobox... http://www.photobox.co.uk/
i got one from them, very well done.
they are also very good in customer satisfaction, any problems or concerns are taken care of immediately and usually with foc repeat of the delivery.

Well I got mine, and to say im impressed is an under statement.

Dead happy, will make a great present.

Thanks for all the advice.
