Yes
It's the first time I've had to get 'generic' prints made for a shoot I did (normal 4x6 photo prints.)

My understanding was that the D7100 wouldn't have the correct aspect ratio for this, however when I enter custom settings of 4x6 in the crop feature on Lightroom it's maintaining the same size.

Would this be correct? Sorry if it's a stupid question, would just rather I know now before I crop them all to the wrong aspect ratio!

Cheers guys

Bill, most DSLRs give the 3:2 aspect ratio (4/3 and MFT being the obvious exceptions!) The easiest way to tell is to look in the manual and divide the long side's pixel dimension by the short side. If the answer is 1.5 (or as near as makes no odds), then it's a 3:2 aspect ratio. Since the D7100 has the pixel dimensions of 6000 x 4000, you might not even need a calculator to do the division!

Feel like an idiot now, but thanks for explaining it like that, learnt something in the process!

Far from good at maths, but even I managed to work that one out quite easily, doh! :cuckoo:

Thanks mate :)

The problems start when you want bigger prints, as few of the larger print sizes are 3:2, and even when you can get prints, try finding frames. :bang:

I had a problem cropping to A4 so as not get a border when trying to print borderless, the ratio needed was 1.41x1

DSLR's shoot 3:2 ratio unless you pick otherwise which is just cropping within the camera anyways . so therefore they are idea for 6x4 without the need to crop.
