OK, entries have closed and the original thread has been unglued, so time for the poll. Shame there weren't more entries but it does make the poll easier and keeps all the entered photos in one post!

Voting will close when I get here on the 14th December, at the way things are going, that'll probably be about 5am... Hopefully that'll give me time to get the micro whatever card ordered and sent out in time for christmas - as long as the winner lets me know which card type they want and an address to send it to!
 
Doh, Just noticed I voted for the wrong one! I was one down... Muppet.
 
Maybe Ovolo and Scotty94 (the top 2 by some margin) could drop me a PM to let me know what type of card they want/need, then if they both need the same, I can get it ordered and ready for the off! If they want to PM their snail mail addresses as well, it'll speed things up even more.

BTW, Maisie says a big thank you (as do I) to whoever voted for #4. TBH, I think all the other entries beat it hands down in all but subject matter.

And the winner is... (tears envelope open in melodramatic manner) Ovolo with his/her atmospheric shot of what I presume is morning mist.

Shame there weren't more entries but it did make the judging less hard for me - far easier to put it to a vote!

For the record, the voting was slightly closer - steveo mcg hit the wrong button (Maisie sends a wafted flatus in his general direction!) and meant to vote for #3, Scotty94's entry (which also got my vote). Fortunately, while it makes a difference in the numbers, it doesn't change the result!

I shall PM the winner now to find out what type of card he/she would like for their 'phone - it'll arrive with him/her in the new year now in all probability.

Forgot I entered this image into the competition and was VERY surprised to see I'd won it.

A very genuine thank you everyone who picked out and voted my photograph.

There is actually a story behind the image that I will cut very short, My Nikon D5100 broke they day before the local Fireworks display :'(:'(:'( , fortunately it was still under warranty and it was sent away for repair. When I went to the display I saw this very bright light almost in the pitch darkness. I positioned myself so the light was behind the tree and when the smoke from the Fireworks started to drift across I took a couple of shots, with the only thing I had with me.... my phone. As photography also includes a bit of luck, it was just perfect when the family walked in front of the tree.....Bingo !
