Yes
So, I currently have a HTC Sensation on a 24 month £32 contract on vodafone, which has served me well but the battery life isn't impressing recently. Used to be fine, but if I need to use the 3G at any point, I can almost watch the battery percentage drop as I use it... Even if I don't use the phone, it will go from 100% in the morning to 65% by lunchtime - with all wireless comms etc switched off :| I've restarted the phone plenty of times, even done a full restore but to no avail, I think the battery is just on its way out.

My contract runs until about September, when I can next upgrade. I'm strongly considering an iPhone 5, especially as I have access to a tasty 40% line rental discount with another network through work. £45 contract becomes something like £29, very niiiice.

Now, the 5s is rumoured for a spring/summer release which sounds quite interesting to me...

My options:
1. Get a new contract with an iPhone 5 now (or after payday in the new year!) and buy out the remainder of my current one at some point. If an iPhone 5s appears, I could sell my 5 handset, then buy the 5s.
2. Continue current contract with naff phone and even more naff battery life, then upgrade in the summer, when the 5s might be out.

Opinions? I think by writing this post I've almost talked myself into option 1, although I would like your views :D

I'd call the network. I had my partners battery replaced free of charge last week

Buy another battery off ebay and wait til Sept. I have a HTC Desire S and my renewal is due in July. There is no point in planning on what phone to get because by the time July comes there will be something better. My battery isnt as good as it used to be. Once its fully charged, after a couple of ten minute surfs on internet or hook up to WI-FI, a few calls and a couple of texts its well under half capacity. Doesnt cause a massive issue yet but when it does I shall just get another battery for around a tenner.
What phone shall I get next? Erm.... Not an Iphone fan, good technology but I dont buy into the Apple branding. Cant add external memory, they prefer you to use their own iTunes etc etc....
Looking at Samsung Galaxy's as a possible contender for my upgrade but there isnt any point in renewing now, I will get a better deal seeing my contract through... :)
Think of the pounds, renew now and they wont give you a cheaper offer.....

With regards about what phone to get, it's a case of 'when', rather than 'what'! I'm definitely after an iPhone, the question is when to do it.

How old was the phone? As mine is now older than 12 months therefore out of warranty, I don't know if they'd do much about it

You can get a genuine stock battery for £20 :)

Install BetterBatteryStats , sometimes a rogue app or SD card problem can eat your battery

Whilst its under contract if you insist they must sort it they will - trust me ;)

You can get free batteries from your provider

Also if your disappointed by your current battery life
Why get an iPhone 5/5s when they can't have the battery replaced so easily
