Phone bricked (ish)

Grrrrrr. Let myself be talked into letting a mate put his sim in my phone so he could edit his number. Anyway the phone wouldnt let him in without activating so we gave up straight away for fear of knackering my phone. Put my sim back in and now thats asking for activation as well and then repeatedly failing to "contact the server".

Anyone any idea if Im stuffed now or can I fix it? May have to drop in tesco store on my way home, all hassle I could have done without.

All would not have been lost - I'd give him a couple of quid for a bricked iPhone - I want one as a side stand pad for parking the bike(s) on soft ground.
