Daily Phil's 2013 365 challenge 1/1/2013 All Done!!!!!!!!

Some great bird shots for you recently; Goldfinches is my favourite - a lovely garden visitor...

Cheers.

Your view is beautiful! I love the bird shots! I hope you scared the cat away from the poor bunny!

Sorry Jake, the bunny met a sad end:shake:

Love that blue tit shot, I have one now that visits the garden, but very rarely. I am going to have to find a spot that has lots of birds.

Thanks Sarah. I suppose im lucky in having a good slection of birds in the garden. Including a heron in my pond on friday morning after my fish:thumbsdown:

Another nice blue tit - we don't appear to get them here - or at least not in my garden :(

Thanks Sarah

Hi Phil, 137 and 139 I really like, a nice view from your doors btw! Lovely shot of the blue tit.

Thanks Michael

Day 153. Another morning in the mountains. This shot was taken from the same position as my photo of the day from 2 weeks ago, today there was no cloud and i was able to see the surrounding mountains.

And a wee panorama showing a large part of the Mourne Mountains

Do hope you were'nt driving on #149 and that orchard is just breathtaking

Wow, 148 is really nice. I also faved a few on Flickr without even realising it was you (153 and 152 I believe). I think I prefer the mood of the scene in 139 compared to 153, but they are both brilliant images, and I'd be pleased with either.

You really do give me very serious garden envy :) Just no more ponds please :)

Nice, bright and colourful shots - so lovely now that the weather is cheering up a bit :)

Lovely shots, Those oak leaves are wonderful against the sky. Your garden is beautiful as well.

Thanks Sarah.

Thanks Sarah. The garden must be one of the few good things about the weather here in lush green ireland!

159 and 162 are great! Like them both!

Cheers Jake

Cool, there's a big promotion here at the moment for solar panels - I'm really interested, but they're so expensive to install.

They seem to be worth installing Sarah but you are right, they are expensive and it is the yearly payment from the goverment that we get for producing green energy that really makes them pay. They were 9k to install, my yearly payment is just over 1k per year tax free for 20 years and it should cut my electric bill in half by using my own free electric during the day and selling surplus back to the grid. I will still have to buy electric at night. They should pay for themselves in 7 years.

They are a long term investment for sure - i might just look into it a bit further :)

Day 164. Tried a panorama from the front of one of my customers houses. Should maybe have used a longer focal length. Any ideas on how to fix the distortion?

Like the alium, never managed to grow one before for some reason, but have a white one coming up this year.
As for the panorama, lots of photoshop or I think the only way of getting them right in camera is a panoramic tripod head. Although the distortion in this doesn't bother me.

Day 166 I tried to get some close ups of the bees on my cotoneaster but they wouldnt stay still long enough, got this instead. Hard to focus on these hand held.

I like the panorama - you can correct it in either LR4 or in Photoshop if you want to.

I have trouble doing "bug" macros too - my recent butterfly was flipping hard work, but eventually it found a flower it liked and stayed fairly still for a while. Like the colours in this one.

Nice macro, looks like one of those nasty horrible biting Cleggs though.

Thanks ladies
