After getting distracted with an FX30 firmware updates I realised a 128GB card I'd taken out was nowhere to be found.
After getting head torch to look in most vaguely plausible places, inevitably it was between sofa cushions
I'm usually pretty good at putting them in certain places if not directly back in camera.
On the plus side I also found two pens that still worked :D - and a 1 Euro coin which was unexpected when I haven't been in eurozone for over ten years.

very useful for shopping trollies I find...

I am still looking for a nikon body cap and rear lens cap, will surely find something else I have lost as I do leave things like my spectacles in incredibly stupid places.

I'm just as bad, if not worse.

I needed to use my camera a few days ago, a Nikon D3 that was a very nice camera when new - it still is but just doesn't look it after nearly 20 years of pro use:
2 x batteries, one was known to be less than perfect but the other one has been fine, so I was surprised when neither worked and neither would charge up.

I ordered a replacement battery from eBay that has since arrived, so no problem - but I still needed a working camera, so I dug out my D700, another good camera and basically just a less heavy-duty version of the D3, but I hadn't used it for a long time and of course the battery was flat - now where did I put the charger?

I looked everywhere, literally. In the process I found some photography bits that had gone missing such as memory cards, a SB-900 flash and some lens caps, plus plenty of useful non-stuff, and I also found a lot of other stuff that was just cluttering up the place, and that's now all gone, a major and useful clear-out that took nearly 3 days . . .

I eventually found the charger, I was with the spare charger, in the very last place I checked:)

Anyone else put their specs on to look for their specs? :headbang:

I got fed up with trying to put the kettle in the fridge, so I bought a one-cup water boiler - problem solved. (y)
