Hi all,

Some of you may be aware that recently I have won a few competitions with the magazine "Photography for beginners". The most recent one I have entered was to do with Light and they have e-mailed me to Ask if they can include one of my entries in an article in the next issue.

Obviously I am over the moon but I would like to run it by everybody here as it's my very 1st time having anything in a mag.

Firstly they have asked for the highest resolution image I have, I have various RAW, TIFF and jpeg version, I am assuming the jpeg will be sufficient but I could be wrong , hence the question. Resolutions are as follows:

3439 x 2592

Horiz res 300 dpi
vert res 300 dpi

Would this be sufficient?

Next question is they have asked me to include the following sentance in my reply e-mail:

I, Xxx Xxx, confirm that I am the copyright holder of the supplied images, and give Imagine Publishing and its overseas and licensed editions permission to use my images in conjunction with my interview/article.

Is this OK and legit?

Thanks for all help

Matt

Hi Matt

Can't help you with your request as I've never been in this situation :shake: sorry, but just wanted to say Congratulations on this and yep, I'd be over the moon as well

Should they? That's up to them. Some mags do, some don't.
Ask the magazine for free advertising space the same size they will publish the photo and wait for their reply

Some magazines are happy to take everything they can get for free but will never ever give you or anyone else for that matter something in return, hmmm.
