As some of you may have seen on Facebook yesterday, I broke down
I'd just done a 40 mile trip on the motorway in the pouring rain, pulled into Asda, stuck a tenner's worth of fuel in, parked at McD's with the engine running for 15 minutes, then pulled onto the motorway.
Within 2 minutes, car cut out with the generic "AntiPollution Fault". I coasted to the hard shoulder. Wouldn't fire up again so I got recovery to bring me home.
Anyway, I've had a bit of a google, and I've hooked up my diagnostics to it. BTW It *doesn't* have a DPF (It was removed before I got the car), so it's nothing to do with that or the EOLYS fluid.
Here are the faults listed under the Engine ECU (No other ECU has relevant faults).
Permanent Fault. Turbo Pressure. Short-circuit to earth or circuit open.
Permanent Fault. EGR control electrovalve fault. Open circuit.
Permanent Fault. Fault. Pre/post heating relay circuit. Relay opened.
Permanent fault. 3rd piston deactivation. Short-circuit to earth or circuit open.
Permanent fault. EGR butterfly position fault. Open circuit.
Permanent fault. Air intake heating circuit. Short-circuit to earth or circuit open.
Permanent fault. Coolant solenoid valve. Open circuit or short circuit to earth.
Now the reason I mention the rain is because while googling, I saw someone mention water ingress through the air intake causing a similar problem.
Also, I remember driving over a bit of motorway where the top layer had been eroded. Like a 3 foot long pothole that's only a couple of cm high.
I wonder if some wiring somewhere has just worked loose?
I had the aircon refilled last week, maybe he knocked something (Although it's been fine all week).
It just won't start now, it turns, fires but dies straight away. Yes, I double checked my receipt, I definitely put diesel in.
Any thoughts from those in the know?
