Petrol prices

Doesn't effect me I just put in twenty quids worth and it takes less time :nuts:

If the Gov't & the Green brigade want us to look at more environmental friendly alternatives they better do something about this;
"Just over a tenth of the (Electric Car) recharging points needed in the UK have been built so far. The BBC found that just 704 of the 4,700 expected to be installed by the end of the year are in place, while two-thirds of towns with a population over 150,000 do not have any public charging points. "
(from The green car website 9th May)
Looks like the oil companies have us over a barrel for now unless you revert to pedal power.

I've just found out my 300TDi Defender will run on a mix of 30% diesel 70% cooking oil in the summer months, legal too as long as you keep a log and don't use more than 2500l in a year

97p a litre for cooking oil

You can run it on 50/50.... My mate does in his 300TDi disco...

But as mentioned rape seed oil is better!

Another friend of mine has a tuned 306 d turbo, and he gets more power and torque when running 100% rapeseed oil!

Only thing is when it gets cold, it gets proper thick, so needs mixing with diesel...

tother thing is that although its low tax as food - if you are using it for fuel you ought to be paying tax on it - not doing could get you in lumber with HMRC

Bought a liter of cooking oil last week and it was £1.40+, after years at about £1.00. I thought to myself that was proof of the 40% rise in food prices, but maybe the reason for this particular rise is to track the fuel price?

I believe it falls under the biodiesel rules and regs, which is 2500l for personal use... You'd have to go some to use more than that!! The only thing you should do is log your usage of it!
