I like it - unusual subject, definitely mechanical-looking and interesting lighting.
Two comments - firstly I find the road sign a bit distracting - could perhaps PS it out, or retake at a slightly different angle.
Secondly - you mention that you used the 580 off-camera and set rear-curtain sync. This is not in any way being negative about the image but I wonder what you feel were the advantages of setting the flash up this way? The affect of off-camera flash in this case appears to be that you have some shadows on the arm on the right hand side - on-camera flash might have avoided these and been preferable in this instance. As for second-curtain sync - the advantage of this is that when you shoot a fast moving subject using a slow shutter speed the trails of motion are behind rather than in front of the subject. Example is a car driving along at night - it looks more natural that the trails are behind the sharp image of the car frozen by the flash and therefore setting rear curtain is better. On a still subject there will be no affect on the outcome.
