weekly Peter 123's 52 for 2022

I like the one with the path the best Peter. I keep staring at the log(?) in the one you've chosen, wondering exactly what it is.

Terrific set Peter. I like the path one the best too for composition and the light through the leaves in the background is lovely.

So many bluebells, they are like a carpet in places. The images never seem to capture the depth quite the same as the human eye.

You're a little ahead of us on the bluebell front.. another week or so here. My leaning is towards the path shot... it helps lead the eye.

A nice image ... bluebells are just and so coming into flower up here

I think the path one is my favorite, no blue bells out in force near where I live yet, the wild garlic is only just flowering.

Week 16 Trees

These topiary trees in Arundel Castle gardens are cut to this shape to mimic the spikes (or spirelets) on the side of the cathedral.

My other tree shot is of a cork oak. Pretty ugly looking thing but different to anything I have seen before. This image is at 14mm full frame - I couldn't find a vantage point to get the whole tree in the frame.

Immediately recognisable as the gardens at Arundel. Fabulous, had a great day wandering round them last year, so much variety and interest, I recommend it.

Both great shots Peter, I think that the Cork Oak is fascinating.

Both lovely shots Peter. I like the cathedral shot, with layers from the building, topiary and flowers.

Technology - Lots of tech in there, but I wonder how much of it takes the skill out of the photo taking process? At some point I will get round to updating my 10 year old Panasonic G5 to enjoy the features available in newer cameras.

Discarded - Maybe if the roof was waxed it would have lasted longer!

Flora - I agree it's always a good idea to carry a camera. A nice colourful display, I wonder if they plant them to design or more random in nature?

Unusual - It's always interesting to see what a bunch of hay bales can be turned into to.

Snappers Choice - Well spotted with the zigzag pattern and the vibrant colours in general.

Trees - Well composed photo getting interest in the fore, mid and background.

There used to be a stand of cork oaks beside the cricket pitch at school. Looking on Google Earth, there still is, although the school is no longer a school.

Both interesting images that meet the theme. I'd find it hard to choose. I like the layered effect with the cathedral, but I prefer the lighting and contrast of the second one.

I know what you mean about getting the right angle, but this works well, and shows the texture of the bark beautifully.

Both are lovely images Peter. I love the style of the topiary against the cathedral and that Cork oak is magnificent.

Two interesting shots. I actually prefer the second shot with the texture of the bark.. very nicely exposed.

Nice post :)

Holes ticked :)

I always like shots of old moss covered fences. If you hadn't told us what it was used for I'd have never known.

That's a great capture Peter, I agree, the colour of the contrail makes for an interesting shot, it almost looks like a comet burning across the sky.

When I see a scene like that I reach for my Flightradar24 app, I love to know where people are going. That aside, it's a great picture of a sunrise that tells a story.

The contrail adds a different angular aspect to the shot. Nicely caught.

Lovely colours Peter, maybe crop out the bottom part of the image or include more of it as a Silhouette.
