weekly Peter 123's 52 for 2022

Ooops! Well seen and shot!

Quite a few trees down around here in parks, fortunately not on cars, being in the right place at the right time helps.

Very topical image, theres going to be a few more of those

Is it a silver birch ? Anyone know?

I think it's a grey poplar

Oops.. thank goodness it was unoccupied. Great for the theme though!

Oh my goodness! Heavy winds for sure in your area. Perfect for the theme.

Alley - really like the processing and viewpoint of this image. I almost feel I am in prison looking out. A good grungy feel to it.

Week 08 Light.

I'm not able to get out much this week so I looked inside for inspiration.
The afternoon sun coming through the venetian blind caught my eye then I noticed the juxtaposition of the stripes on the lens camouflage with the stripes of light.
Job done I hope.

There's a lens in the shots? Can't see it... :P

Nice image Peter, I like the play on how the camo blends with the cabinet.

Yep - box ticked well :)

Great light capture... although I doubt the lens is particularly light :)

First shot is excellent and I love the way the light changes angles. But in the second shot that massive lump of printer adds nothing.

Great lateral thinking with interesting shapes being created by the light. I personally think it would a slightly stronger image with a small crop from the left to remove the holes in the slates, leaving just the diagonal lines.

Week 9 damp

I decided not to bother with the reflections part this week.
Personally I am not sure how to differentiate between damp and wet.
Dictionary says wet is "covered or saturated with water or another liquid"
Dictionary says damp is "moisture diffused through the air or a solid substance or condensed on a surface, typically with detrimental or unpleasant effects."
It had rained overnight so plenty of wet and damp things in the garden.
In the end I went for the damp proof course that can be found in nearly all properties. In a particular corner of our house it is easy to see and photograph.

I have also posted a few others that I considered.

I do like the old wheelbarrow shot, but you're chosen take is slightly different to most so that works admirably.

Of course!!! What a great idea :) Perfect for the theme.

I too have had my thinking cap on trying to think of something more damp than wet. Not easy!

Good stuff - I prefer the last one :)

I like the Old wheel barrow shot, is that the Young wheel barrow behind it.

Pete

I think that #3 shows off "damp" the best Pete, I like it the best of the three.

I think you chose correctly Peter. Gave me a headache trying to read it though....

Would a tighter crop on the second one give a better focus on the interesting/contrasting hedge in the reflection? That first shot, what a great spot.

You are right, but as I decided not to go with this I didn’t spend much time processing.

Two good shots. I think I agree with @AlanDorset that the second cropped would create a nice image but I understand if you want to avoid processing.

Like you chosen image Peter, fits the theme well. Mind you I did initially think it was a Kebab shop until I fully re-read it
