Pete Postlethwaite

A sad loss indeed, a superb artist. I don't think anyone could have got it more right with Brassed Off, he was a true 'old school' BB director.

Edit: And of course, how could I forget, his incredible performance in Sharpe.

Steven Speilberg called him the "Greatest actor in the world". He was very proud that as an actor he was never out of work.

Rest In Peace Pete and thanks for all the pleasure you have given us over many, many years. God Bless.

I just saw this too on BBC, Brassed Off was a great film and so many other roles gave me a lot of pleasure over the years, he was far too young and such a great actor RIP Pete.

Great as Mr Kobayashi in the Usual Suspects

Very sad indeed, 64 is no age. :(

I think my fave role was as the father in Distant Voices, Still Lives.

Echo all the above ^ RIP a brilliant actor.

I was only watching him in "The Town" last night too. (great film btw :D)

Great loss. Shame he never could give up the cancer sticks:(

Such a loss - I always liked him not just because he was from my home town of Warrington.
