Hi

I am looking to purchase some perspex to dabble in a bit of product photography. I have looked online but I am unsure as to who to go with. Has anyone got any recommendations as to whom they source their perspex from. Im also happy to hear anybody's recommendations to an alternative to perspex.

Also I have two 60 x 60 softboxes and one 30 X 140 strip light to manage the lighting but was wondering if that would be enough to start with (with lots of practice) to get a good result.

Thanks in advance.

We get ours from Amari Plastics. I don't know if they sell small quantities though.

Thanks for the replies folks. Has anyone dealt with Midlands plastics? They seem to be the cheapest I have found and they will cut to size. Still not sure though if I am doing the right thing in splashing out for some perspex though:thinking:

Try Trent Plastics. Google is your friend but they have a big eBay store. Reliable, reasonable prices and speedy delivery. Any problems just drop them a line. They are quick to respond.

What for? IMO, if you are going for reflections the best choice is a polished "safety mirror" (SS sheet). Works for any color, no double reflection, more durable/scratch resistant than plastic, stronger reflections especially "on white"... (reflections may need toned down in post).

IMO, your lighting is pretty small for product work in general, but you can always push them thru a cheap DIY scrim (i.e. shower curtain).
