Perseids meteor shower:

I'm not sure if this is one, no flashing breaks so guess it can't be a plane, did see quite a few while the camera was clicking away and previous and next image to this has nothing on it....what does everyone think...Meteor or fail?

And now another question, I merged 3 shots together of the ISS and get small trails on the stars, does anyone know a way of just merging the ISS trails onto a single photo so the stars don't trail?

woah that meteor must have been quite bright to leave a trial at ISO 200.... or does that not matter cos you have compensated with the larger aperture (2 stops bigger compared to F5.6, ISO 2 stops lower compared to ISO 800)

Yep, that one was indeed very bright but those settings were also catching a few feint ones that my eyes never saw plus a few billion stars that I couldn't see. It's plenty of light with 25 secs @ f2.8 (alhough this is only my first week at chasing meteors so I'm not pretending to be techie about it!).

Incidentally, just after this shot I switched off the camera and was folding the tripod when a vastly bigger & brighter fireball went over, Murphy's Law bites again :(
