Afternoon all,

Ive had a permajet fitted to my epson R1400 for the last few years and never had any problems. I was so impressed i recommended my work mate to buy one- All hes ever had is blockage after blockage. We took the printer head out today and finally managed to flush the blockage after several attempts.
Whilst we were looking at his printer, i noticed what seemed to be sediment floating in his printer lines (almost sandy looking) I've never had mine looking anything like this- just wondering if anyone else had similar issues using ciss? - Its almost like the inside of the ink tubes are breaking down

Mine still works perfectly though :naughty::p

Look forward to your thoughts

if he using the correct ink?

if there is a problem with the ink then get in touch with permajet - looks like there is a problem on their supply.

The thing is, i told him to scrap his whole system, and for the sake of an extra £25 start afresh. We've both today ordered a whole new system so we've each got full set of inks and £40 worth of free paper. I do feel sorry for him, as he's been kind enough to tell me how many hours hes spent over the last 18 months battling with unblocking it :bang: I cant think of any thing else that could be causing it. I'll try putting some photos up of the ink lines if hes still got it ;)

Sorry poah, forgot to say he's only using the permajet inks that came with it

We tried the new inks today and had the same results- guess the print heads had it. Do you think it would be worth looking into a replacement one ? he's quite gripped about the whole thing now

When we were flushing the nozzles ink was popping out the others like a fountain. He seems to think the debris in the tube was likely to be blue ink from flushing- im not convinced though. We managed to get the cleaning solution spray beautifully through the head so was very surprised to find the 4 colours unchanged/not working

I don't know if this helps but I used to run a CISS on my old Epson 1290 and it was very fussy about the height of the ink bottles.

If they were not placed two inches below the printer it would flood. It could be worth experimenting with.

We did try raising the inks with no success. We now know what the inside of a print head looks like- rip r1400 :bat::hug::lol:
