Some years ago when my boy was 9 ( he is now 16) he was GIVEN an Olympus OM2n outfit by a Widow-lady who also gave us an XA2 each in presentation boxes -- now he has lost interest in his 'traditional photography' as it is not 'Street-Wise' to be seen out using 'Old FILM Cameras as all his Mates use their 'Gadgets' to take photos and are all on this Twitter, Facebook and Instagram things -- so I have taken over his gear including a nice gift KONICA outfit . I have been out using it -- only processed a short length on outdated Ilford Delta 100 rated 80 ASA which has been through at least 12 airport X-Rays and using the 28mm f3.5 lens with an Orange Filter -- all at full aperture -- now am using the 50m f1.4 and the 75-150mm f4 Zoom

That looks a nice bit if gear (jammy sod, not that I'm jealous or anything!!). I'm an Olympus user myself, I like the way they handle and they produce exellent results. How does it compare to your usual kit?

Lucky you for the 28mm and the 50mm F1.4 lens....I too like Konica lenses (not so much their cameras) but they started going downhill probably trying to keep up with the big names with costs and it's usually their older lenses that are sharper but the modern (in the old days) ones are still very good and I'm happy with them.

Kept forgetting that to 'rewind' the fillum you must turn the little thingy on the right, not to push in a button on base-plate -- then I took some leaving camera on 'OFF' but the shutter still went and I got a snap !!

Great kit Pete. Olympus OM-1 and OM 2s were my first foray into serious photography back in the late 1970's, seriously good kit and excellent glass. Enjoy and I look forward to seeing the results you get.

Wonderful cameras - no-one made a 35mm camera that I preferred to the OM4Ti, which was the ultimate 35mm camera as far as I'm concerned (I don't have one). I've got a fairly reasonable OM system though.

The OM2 does still give correct exposure on auto when turned off - a useful feature.

I actually bought a 16mm OM lens yesterday...

We need to see pics Stephen, the 16mm is a cracking lens.

I have a short length of Ilford Delta 100 exposed ready for processing and reloaded with 2007 dated Fuji Acros 100 rated at 80 ASA but have not taken many yet -- using the 50mm and 75-150mm lenses.I will show you when I take some more 'worth showing' other than just 'lens tests ' of buildings.

Im glad you mentioned that... I was wondering what happened when i didnt turn it to auto or manual :P How is the 16mm working out?

I will show a few of the results I have processed up from outdated Ilford Delta 100 ( short cut length) and a reload of 2007 outdated Fuji Acros 100 -- both had been through at least 12 airport X-rays rated 80ASA
