Folks, could someone please give me a recommendation of someone who could fix/service an old Spotmatic. I have one on it's way to me which I purchased to use as a photo prop but I'm so in love with the look of it that I've decided I'd like to get it sorted if possible and put some film through it together with my 12 y/o son and show him the process we all once went through. Here's the camera: (seller's pics). (Thanks in advance for any suggestions.)

Yeah, Harrow Technical though you may need to wait a while as I think he is overwhelmed.

Robin did a fabulous job on my ME Super and I have a Spotmatic SPII that I am torn between selling or getting a service!

Thanks mate!! I just found that one and was browsing the site. Doesn't look like it will be an economically smart exercise but hey, who needs smart? :ROFLMAO:

Seconded Robin at Harrow Technical, he's done several Spotmatics and LX's for me. He refurbishes lenses too but I've not tried that.

Oh it isn't :D but at the same time you will have complete faith in the camera when it comes back and know it will probably keep working for a long time to come. That was how I justified it and will justify the Spotmatic when that eventually goes (I just can't bring myself to sell it).

Very true!

Indeed Nev, though I think he too may be holding off on taking any new orders right now. Seems everybody keeps wanting to have their old film cameras serviced; how thoughtless of them to do so at a time I may want to have my own serviced :sneaky: :D

Actually ignore that, I was thinking of Miles Whitehead mwrepairs who is going to do the work on my Agfa Isolette II

You can see why I am reluctant to sell my Spotmatic when it looks so good cosmetically. All those little bits of dirt will gone too after the service.

Gotta say though I do like the black version especially when it starts to brass like yours Dunc.
