Hi all,

Newbie here and just bought my first digital SLR - a Pentax k-x with twin lens, 18-55 and 55-300.

I had a 35mm SLR years ago (I inherited my dads old manual one when he bought an ME-Super in the early 80s), but then life, kids and digital took me away to compacts and bridge cameras. Now bought the k-x as a replacement for an aging Fuji S5600 and looking forward to getting to know how to use it.

Steve,

Thanks for the welcome.

I live in Oxfordshire just north of Oxford itself so there's plenty of countryside, deer, red kites, buzzards etc about.

Hi  and :welcome: to TP.

You'll find that 55-300mm Pentax lens to be rather good.

I got the chance to use a 77mm limited on the K-x and it was amazing. The limited lenses are absolutely beautiful. I used to write articles for Pentax User so if you need any help with your camera, I'll do what I can. I have a MV sat on a shelf fitted with a 40mm lens. I don't use it, it sits next to my old Zeiss Ikon and Agfa Billy. :)
