Pentax MX winder

Depends how many FPS you want, the 'Winder MX' does 2 and the 'Motor MX' 5.

Thanks, but what I mean do any of the others fit the MX,ie ME winder 1,or does that just fit the ME super :)

The Pentax MX had its own unique winder (winder MX) as well as a motor-drive, and these could not be used on any other Pentax SLR. On the other hand, the ME II winder was suitable for the ME-Super, MG, Super A, Program A, and I'm sure some of the older models, such as the ME as well.

The top of the range LX also had its own winder and motor-drive.

The MX is such a nice and compact package, why ruin it with a motor drive?

The MX is such a nice and compact package....

You're absolutely right, it was a nice compact camera. This was my very first SLR back in the early 1980's and am still very fond of them.

A very nice camera to start with! It is my go-to SLR, with its massive and informative viewfinder.

Thank everybody,saw a really nice one vgc with a 50mm F1.7 for £60.

Used to use one, great little camera,he also had a winder he said he would throw in,but it was marked ME-1,and i wasnt sure if it would work, but still think i will go for it,the camera :)

If you like manual-only cameras, you certainly won't go wrong with the MX. A great SLR and plenty of lenses (P/K fitting) available on the used market if you wish to add any. The ME winder won't work unfortunately, but you may come across an MX winder somewhere if you really need it. Good luck with it.
