i have an old pentax MEsuper but it hasnt worked for a little while now and i was looking into getting it fixed again does anyone know of any company or places i can send it to fix it up?

Hi Hayley,

Not wishing to state the obvious but have you tried it with new batteries, making sure the battery compartment is clean and has no corrosion?

Looking at the average selling price on ebay, unless the camera has particular sentimental value, you're probably better off buying a working one. The cheapest repair you're likely to find is likely to cost you at least £40-£50 once you've factored in postage and that's assuming it just needs a CLA (clean, lubricate & adjust) if it needs parts, and they are available it will probably cost even more, making it uneconomic to repair.

Sorry to be a prophet of doom but it's often the case with older cameras.

If you do decide to go down the repair route I can thoroughly recommend Miles at http://www.mwcamerarepairs.co.uk/

Not sure if its the same on the ME Super, but on the ME you canset it to B and it'll work without batteries (no meter obviously), that'd rule out mechanical failure.

its not the batteries its something to do with the mirrors inside as its not transfering the image on to the film i dont no much about these old cameras thats why i ask i dont need it it was just a thought but if you think its probs betta to just get a new one then repair it not much point thanks anyway and ill try putting it onto B and see if that does anything

It may well still be the batteries. To reiterate the previous replies, the ME Super has an electronically controlled shutter. If the batteries are dead, the shutter won't fire/open, the mirror won't lift, so no light will hit the film, thus no image.
It does have two purely mechanical shutter speeds, 125x and B. The 125x is the flash sync setting on the top dial.

Set it to 125x. Wind the film advance lever if it'll go Open the back up and look at the shutter. Does it fire when you press the button? What does the mirror do?
