Just been given a pentax K1000 very tatty case but camera seams in good nic SMC PENTAX - M 1:1.7 50mm lens anybody know anything about them are they any good and are they worth anything?

Well, if you're sure - they seem to be priced on ebay around £40. There's one for Buy It Now at $85 (about £42) If I was you though I'd have some fun with it first and decide whether to sell it or not

I never used one myself but I remember hearing that they were the standard film slr used on a lot of potography courses because they were very solid, quite cheap and all manual. Certainly capable of great results with a 50mm prime if you want to shoot film.

I have had 3 of them and still own 2 now. Excellent camera!

But for many other projects I would buy every single one I could lay my hands on!!
