I'm off for my first visit to Pembrokeshire at the end of the week. We're staying near Croesgoch & I've left the photo research a little late :'(

Any tips on suitable locations not too far away or suggested scenic drives very much appreciated.

It's a fantastic coastline though inland can be a bit dull. Just try a few spots on the coast and see what you find.
 
There are a few photo opportunities in Tenby including the old building on the rock of South Beach(I think)

Pembrokeshire dull :) You must be kidding!

Far too many places to try: Prescelli Hills, Castles everywhere, St Davids, Gwaun Valley, Bosherton, Green Bridge of Wales, stackpole, Puffin Island(Skomer) Freshwater, etc etc etc

Were the Puffin shots taken with a 200mm lens as they appear very close for a 200mm shot?

yeh, used my 70-200mm for all shots (on my 1.6x 30d) even then, not all are shot on full zoom - it's one of the best places for puffins as you literally trip over them. 300 or so people are allowed on the island everyday so they get pretty tame/tolerant of humans :)

bif you'll need probably 300mm min......also there's short eared nesting on the island, saw them last time but again need some more reach for these :)

great place - just sit in the grass with them and they're left, right and centre :)

Pembrokeshire has a fantastic coastline but INLAND it 's a bit dull. As I said....;)

There are too many great locations to mention on the coast.
 
Went there last week.
Try little haven, broad haven, area its a great spot for pics.
St anns light house on the point has some great rock formations to the right of the lighthouse
 
There are some lovely places up the Teifi. Most of it is in pembrikeshire.
