I have been offered one of these for a micro 4/3rds camera and I have a Canon 450D. From my understanding these are all M42 fitting, so all I would need is a M42 - EOS adapter. Please can someone who owns one of these lens confirm whether this is the case?

Micro 4/3rds has it's own mount - as far as I'm aware it's not M42.
I suppose it depends on the brand, but certainly Olympus micro 4/3rds do not use the m42 mount.

Yeah iv ordered the samyang just waiting for it to come.
When you say you have been offered it do you mean to buy? If so you may aswel just buy one new for your Canon as they are only cheap

There isn't a Peleng 8mm that has the Olympus micro 4/3 fitting, as you've mentioned M42 I suspect that its an M42 mount lens, you should be able to buy an adaptor for this to your Canon
