So how many Strava segments did you get with that![]()
that was my first thought when I saw the speed, unfortunately I didn't go through any segments on my mythical trip! So how many Strava segments did you get with that![]()
that was my first thought when I saw the speed, unfortunately I didn't go through any segments on my mythical trip! thatll be those android phones... wouldnt get that with an iphone
on a serious note, going to try some south downs this weekend. coronary inbound..
for the same route, same app, same
phone is recorded 1.67, 1.65 and 1.52 miles. these GPS apps are that accurate lol(iPhone BTW)
I also find that it depends where you have your phone about your person. My spurious readings recently (like my example above) are all when I've had it in the pocket of my shorts. If I have it in my back pack it has tracked flawlessly so far.
I've had quite a few strange readings, for instance it only picking up the middle mile of a 10mile ride and they've always been when it's in my pocket - must be something to do with where the GPS chip is compared to my leg or something - and maybe a particularly weak GPS signal as it's not a particularly expensive or modern phone. :shrug:thats interesting, i normally have mine in my pocket. will try it in my bag and see if theres a difference

I took my bike for its first run this morning! I got the Trek Domane 2.0. Its very quick compared to my hybrid. I knocked over a minute off my pb, without killing myself!
I'm petrified someones gonna steal it off the bike rack at my work. Iv got two kryptonite locks and theres cctv all over it but i'm thinking of buying two Dobermans and chaining them to the wheels!!!
Its insured but it will break my heart if someone steals it.

What phone holders, if any, do people have?

nah its a road bike![]()

...Don't suppose anyone can recommend a replacement?
Not unless they share your exact physique and arse, no...
We could say what works for us, but at the end of the day, bike saddles are a very personal thing.
Ziplock plastic bag and one of the back pockets on the shirt
Garmin 800 on the bars with one of their "out-front" brackets...

Eurgh too early.
Edit: my back obviously agreed, putting my socks on sent my lower back into spasm.![]()
Great ride out today. 90k and over 1000m of climbing! I love my new bike.
Great stuff, sounds like you are flying
I've gone the opposite way, travel for work, holiday then food poisoning this week has meant hardly anything done last 3-4 weeks and triathlon in a month....
Sounds like a bummer.
Cycling is going well at the moment. Next planned cycle is down to camber sands but will try something before then. All building up to the dunwich dynamo.
It's worse as I keep seeing my brother and brother in law's updates on strava, they are on course to destroy me - I'm considering sabotage.
Dunwich ride sounds excellent, friend from work has done it few times - assume you are not tree trying it on a Boris Bike like someone did!
well, I'm absolutely shattered after todays ride - it may not look like much, but first 1/3 had lots of 20+mph average speed in sustained lumps (3-4 miles a a time) - again, not a biggie for the racing snakes, but for a 16.5 stone 50 year old bloke who only recently got back on the bike it was going some. Then the last 2/3 managed to be into the 10-15mph headwind - it even backed and veered to stay in my teeth as I changed direction
Frankly, I'm completely cooked. And I apologise to anyone who i've replied to and sounded even more grumpy than normal. It's a combo of low blood sugar and unrequited hunger (i'm on a diet, and despite burning an extra 3000+ kcals today, I'm trying very hard not to go over my ration...)
Agh, my normal daily routine!
Did you get out in the end?
thats a shame, what have you got andy (mods - not outside of classifieds activity, just interested)
nice, ive always like cove. i was going to get a hustler before i got the trek but someone out bid me.
Got a little bit hit by a car today. Daft woman turning right across traffic failed to see the large lump in yellow on a bike. Me and bike were fine. I love cycling in tooting!
Glad to hear you're ok. It's scary how easily these things can happen and shows how much you need to keep your wits about you watching out for dodgy drivers!

Glad to hear you and bike still in one piece. Cycling in London certainly has it's moments! If I had one those video helmet cams I'd need to buy a lot of disk space to store the good, bad and ugly from my commute.
