Ladies and Gents,

I'm heading out to Wirksworth and into the Peak District next weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions for locations to visit and shoot in that vicinity?
 
All of it!

Classic spots are of course Stanage and the area around Hathersage / Hope Valley, but these have been shot to death quite a bit (Abandoned millstone in the foreground, sweeping views as the sun sets...)

Mam Tor behind Castleton is pretty dramatic, and Ladybower reservoir are all pretty nice.
It's not so much finding a location to shoot (it's all beautiful), it's finding something original to shoot ;)

Some more dramatic rock formations can be found at Robin Hood's Stride and the Roaches / Hen Cloud
 
You could take a look at Padley Gorge. There are some waterfalls and woodland that could be showing some signs of autumn.
 
Thanks guys, I suspect Stanage and Hathersage along with Padley Gorge will be the most likely with their relative proximity and it might avoid the need to end up in the Chatsworth gift shop!
 
If it's raining (not unknown in the Peak District) you could try one of the Castleton show caves / mines

I've tried Blue John and Treak both worth a visit. .
 
The weather report is mostly favourable with only a little cloud forecast at this stage. I'll look them both up. Thanks Zendog
 
I went yesterday morning to mam tor and Castleton was covered in fog with just the cement works poking out above the fog. Looked nice as a the sun rose. I find Castleton is covered in fog quite often at sunrise :)

Leeds was similarly foggy yesterday Danny, almost as picturesque as well. I'll see if it's possible for us to get up there early.

Saffron, Stanage Edge - Mill Stones, Mam Tor - dramatic view over the hope and edale valley, Curbar Edge, Derwent Edge - Salt Cellar Rock Formation, Bamford Edge - good views down to Ladybower Reservoir, Over Owler Tor just to name a few

Sunrise spot: Mam Tor is an obvious choice, sunset stanagem bamford
