Hi all,

Looking for landscape locations in the Peak District. Any good view points? Waterfalls? Taking a trip this weekend hoping to get some wintery landscapes.

Hi,

Mam Tor, Higger Tor, Stannage Edge, & Win Hill are all worth a a try and are fairly close together.

Padley Gorge near grindleford is good for waterfalls, and the above suggestions are all good too. Ladybower reservoir and derwent edge might be worth a visit too.

If you're up for a little climb get up on the hills behind Peveril Castle in Castleton for some great views.

The Roaches on the Leek to Buxton road in the Staffordshire Moorlands will give you some good landscapes

Swallet Falls near Foolow is quite impressive. Kinder Downfall might also be running well now its thawed out.

The Peak District looks like a landscape photographers dream!

From doing a search on the site below, the best spots look like:

- A peak near Grindleford
- Dovestone Reservoir
- A view of the railway near Monsal Head Hotel
- A waterfall in Lumbsdale (outside the national park, but only just)
- The Ladybower Overflow in Ladybower Reservoir

You can see a map of these here: http://www.shothotspot.com/hotspots...ed Kingdom&kw=&supressAudit=true#.UVazSFeaYnh

If you can stand a big climb, the Kinder Downfall is an amazing waterfall, if you catch it on the right day the wind catches the water and it goes straight upwards. (You stand on the top of the waterfall)

Video here. (It doesn't have to be a horrible gale for it to happen, but it helps)
