Peak design slide vs slide lite?

I already have the peak design slide and rate it highly, however it does seem a bit overkill for when I use my EM1 and am considering getting the slide lite for it instead. I see that the lite doesn’t have that slight padding on the shoulder part that the slide does, has anyone else got both and can say whether this lack of padding makes any difference to comfort?

I’m thinking of getting either or instead of my black rapid. Do they work if you use one of the loops on the 70-200 foot?

No.
You’ll be carrying a lighter camera.
I have both and prefer the lite.

I have both, as Peter said get the lite for the EM1. The normal one will be too big although it would be good for your D850.

I prefer the slide to my BR. It feels more secure and the camera doesn’t spin like it does on the BR.

I use one lug on the camera body and the other on the tripod plate. The way I use my strap is a bit controversial as there’s some that say that it puts excess strain on the mount, however as the lens hangs down there’s no torsional force on the lens so I don’t believe there’s any excess strain. I used it like that with my D750 and now D850 using both the 70-200mm f2.8 and 150-600mm.

Thanks, yes the slide is perfect for my D850 (y)

Most pics I see have one on the camera (left side if looking from back and 1 on tripod mount. The new tripod mount looks a lot thinner so would fit on Sony bodies better anyway!

Guessing even on a small A7iii when you add the 70-200 you would want the slide over the slide lite?

Although slide lite does look a bit more stealthy.

I have the old slide. The mount is spot on, small but still Arca. Love it along with my clutch.

I use the minimalist PD Leash (Mk1) which folds up into a shirt pocket, with a Billingham shoulder pad so it both grips and slides with ease and comfort* https://billingham.co.uk/products/shoulder-pads Works really well, so I bought another for second camera or, more usually, tripod.

*It's pretty comfortable without the shoulder pad TBH with a lighter outfit or for shorter periods.

I had the lite on the EM1 and sold it when I bought the leash, however, I also have the cuff and have to admit that the cuff is my most used for some reason!

I use the lite on dslr cameras and the leash for mirrorless, really rate them both .
I had the full fat slide but found it a bit stiff-mind you it was one of the coloured ones that I think are stiffer.

Peak Design Leash. Unobtrusive but strong. Perfect for mirrorless - even the Fuji X-H1.

I have the Slide, Slide Summit edition, Leash and Slide Lite. I got the Lite when i got my Canon M50, but have used it with my 5D4 as well. Its a really nice strap. Its stiffer than the larger versions, which make it a bit more effort to put away, but its a minor issue.
I have no issues using it though, and find it just as comfortable as the larger straps.I suppose part of that is that its not holding quite as much weight. .

The Leash will hold quite a bit, and its very soft, but as its very narrow i avoid putting too much on it.

Yeah, the Summit versions aren't very nice IMO. Much stiffer than the original version. I hardly use mine. Not really sure why i brought it in the first place, other than i like the look of it.

Anyone got the slide lite in the grey? Does it pick up a lot of marks etc? Might play it safe with black!

The Leash looks ok, but might be better with the lite for the A7 with 70-200 2.8 on.

I have the original Slide (Kickstarter backer), slowly warming to it, ordered a Lite for my 2nd A73.

Going for the lite. Just need to decide on colour!

I have them both use the lite with my A7III and Siggy 35mm with heavier lenses I use the normal slide as it digs in a bit.
