Hi all, I purchased a peak design slide strap at the weekend and am really impressed with it, it’s so much more comfortable than my previous strap that was only about 3/4inch wide.
My only concern is the metal adjustment buckles, I have set it to my desired length and can’t see me changing this so I’m just wondering if anyone has any ideas for covering these to stop them potentially damaging the camera or lenses in the bag?
I was thinking some black electrical tape wrapped around them but I’m concerned it might look tatty.
Many thanks

I just flick mine off at each end before I put the camera away and store separately.
Only takes a couple of seconds.

I bought one recently, one of the main benefits is being able to quickly clip the strap off and store it separately from my camera.

I cover the the locking part with duct tape so it doesn't scatch stuff when using/stored.

I also take it off when i put in the case.

Thanks all, yes I might start removing it before putting it away. Do you think this would cause unnecessary wear and tear on the anchors at all?

I love the sliding feature on them, I tend to keep the strap short when I am walking about, and lengthen it when I am using the camera.

I just put a Slide Lite in the classifieds.
Bought it on a whim, but its still in a sealed box.
Not sure why I bought it really seeing as I only use wrist straps.

I don't think so, but they give you a spare set in the box anyway. I guess they are going to wear out eventually but they're cheap to replace. I'd think the cord would wear through before the plastic locking parts gave up the ghost.

If you register the strap on the Peak Design website you get a lifetime warranty, so even if the plastic parts on the actual strap wore out they would replace it.

That’s a good point. I have registered the product through peak design, so that’s reassuring.

I just fold mine over the top of the camera in the bag. The camera will eventually show signs of use any way, so not worth getting anal about it. I have had it on for three years so far with out any visible marks. so I do not regard it as a problem. about the only time that I take it off is when the camera is on a tripod as it gets in the way, and can add vibration in windy conditions.
