pc promblem

wondering if anyone would care to help have got a pc promblem on my desktop am now on my older pc :|

the power light comes on you can hear the fan going etc etc but no monitor or usb hub lights keyboard etc etc every thing works fine on older pc so i know the stuff is ok

Not a pc gurro or anything like this but do you think it could be the motherboard??

Sounds like your PSU (power supply unit) may have died, not putting enough power out to fire it all up. Easy to replace and not expensive.

Our tower died on xmas day with no life in it, swapped power supply from another pc, wasnt that turned out to be the motherboard.....have you tried powering the poorly pc with the power supply from your old pc before spending out on that to eliminate or otherwise this as the source?

Is the monitor run from the power supply in your PC?

If so and the monitor won't come then it properly is the power supply

Sounds like a motherboard prob, if power supply, the fans would be unlikely to kick in too usually. Mind you, last time I had a similar problem, I stripped the thing, cleaned it all, rebuilt and it worked for another 2 years before the processor gave up, by which point, the only sensible option was to start afresh.

take the side off, and see if there are any lights on, on the motherboard (after you've powered it up).
does the dvd tray eject ok after you turned it on?

Its a motherboard problem, with the fans spinning up that shows the PSU is working fine.

What CPU and Graphics Card do you have and I will see what kind of board you need as a replacement, should be able to do you a good price aswell
