Slightly above your budget at £150 but on the recommendation of other TP users I ordered a 23" Dell Ultrasharp monitor on Monday and it arrived today.
Not got my new PC yet but hooked it up to my laptop
It's only a quick snap on my mobile and doesn't do it justice but I'm sat about 3 ft from it and it's clearer and easier to see than my laptop screen that's about 18" from my nose

I think you can get a 22" version which may be a little closer to your budget.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a monitor anywhere else now for that warranty alone. I had a Dell 2408WFP fail near the very end of the three year warranty period. One phone call and a brand new U2410 was on my door-step the next day. Impressed.
