I have been with Paypal for some yrs now, never had an issue, but today whilst away at the Doctors, my wife receieved a call from Paypal asking for me, wife said i was not here, so they left a phone number to be contacted on, checking this with 1471 they were different.
Never ever have i had a phone call from Paypal, and just wondered if anyone else has.....
 
Also been with them for years, only phone contact has been automated to confirm something via the Paypal site - I would treat this with suspicion and check your Paypal account and change your password.
 
I've run a business account for 10 years and not ever been called. If there is anything important there will be a notice when you log in.
 
Thanks for the replies, Yes seems quite suspious, no emails no recent purchases etc via paypal,so cannot make it out. I will sit back and see what happens.

Phone paypal and ask if they tried to contact you. If not they should be very interested in someone pretending to be from them.

Presumably Paypal has similar security procedures as banks and card companies in that they never contact account holders and ask for account details etc.

Hi Dougie.
I tried to phone them from the paypal website but was on there for ages, so decided to email them with details and numbers.
 
I think they rang me once in about 11 years, and it was some marketing thing. They never asked for any details about the account, just some random crap questions on service. It was/is a business account though.
 
I have also been contacted by PayPal via the phone and it was a good thing they did...
