Paypal question.......

Hi all.
I bought my new lens last Friday on Ebay, paid with paypal.
Didn't have any money in paypal, so I paid the cash into my bank account, paid the seller, as is well.

Except the money is still in my bank account. I've e-mailed the seller to check that he has received the payment, which he has, and has posted the lens.

Is this normal?
I don't recall this ever happening before :shrug:

Sometimes e-Bay debit the money a few days later, alternatively if you have a back-up payment method (such as a credit card) set up the payment could have come from that. Log into your Paypal account and view the transaction details to be certain.

Weird.
Everything seems ok. Transfer from bank account and payment transaction details are all there.
And seller confirms he's received payment

I don't have a credit card, just my bank account.

Any Paypal payments going from my bank account generally appear as a Direct Debit three working days after the transaction was completed.

Off-eBay, if I receive an eCheque the notification from PayPal advises to allow the payment to clear before sending the goods. Sometimes the customer's bank sticks their oar in and blocks the payment and then you have to FAX proof of postage to PayPal cos they can't get their file upload system fixed.

So, your seller may have received notification that the payment is in process, only to find out in a week or so that your bank has blocked it.
