not sure on this so perhaps someone on here has experience of it .. I want to buy some items from a friend and pay by PayPal Credit . can I simply pay him its over 1k and have it go on my paypal credit balance , then I can repay over a time period ??
tried there useless helpline but its all robots I need to speak to a human grrrrrr
 
I don't see why not. I don't have their credit card, but it is just another account after all.

I imagine you should be able to transfer directly via Friends & Family, but if you can't; transfer it to your normal PP account and then do it. :)

I don't think you can draw cash or transfer funds to a non commercial organisation to buy something using paypal credit. Happy to be proved wrong though, if someone knows differently.
 
still mulling it over Steve , I have a relatively high credit limit on there .. just waiting for pics of the items no rush
 
nope it doesn't work my lad just tried to send me a token payment via PayPal Credit , does not go through
 
Can you link a personal credit card to your PayPal account and use that?

I don't think you can "send cash" with a credit card which you are basically trying to do.
You can only use it to purchase items from authorised sellers i believe.
otherwise it would be a massive opening for fraud.

He’s trying to buy something, not send cash.
 
Could you not get the person to list it on ebay then buy it from there and then you will be able to use the facility? Obviously you will have to take in to account listing and final fees etc but you will be able to use it then?

Have you tried getting him to send you a request for payment?
Edit: ignore that. It won't work.
It appears you can only use PayPal credit with online stores.

Got to be an expensive way to buy something even if it can be done.
 
As stated above, you can only use paypal credit when buying from either a seller on ebay or a e-tailer who accepts paypal.

Not at all 4 months interest free , it’s all I ever use .. but this particular deal is a special one .. it can wait till I have more funds anyway ... so put it to bed now

The person you are buying from has to have a Merchant account to receive credit card payments. Credit cards aren't really intended for this type of transaction.

That's not true.

I've sent myself cash from my credit card to my bank account using PayPal on mote than one occasion. There's fees involved but from a Credit Card to Bank Account via PayPal is possible.

Yes, but that's via an intermediary - PayPal. In your case you are making a payment to PP who then send the cash to your bank account.

You cannot send a payment direct from a credit card to a.n.other unles they have a merchant account, which is what I posted above.
