My problem is yesterday i made a paypal credit card account, and by mistake i payed Richard Franiec with GB Pounds instead of US Dollars, so he emailed me saying he had refused my payment, i dont mind that but wheres my cash now it hasnt go back into my account ok its only £22 but its mine what will happen now:(

This happened to me, I mistakenly paid £85 to an email with one letter wrong. I cancelled the payment but didn't realisse it hadn't gone back into my bank account. However, when I went to pay for something else, I was £85 in credit with paypal. You may find that it's still in your paypal account so next time you buy something, it will use that before your credit card

But i dont ever want to use paypal again thats it for me i want control over my own money :(

if it is indeed in your paypal account you should be able to withdraw it, but im not sure if the robbing *******s actually take a percentage or not nowadays

They don't take anything for refunded payments - withdrawing the money will only attract a small fee if the amount is under £50.

This is a reply i recieved from Paypal:(

Dear Raymond Smalley,

Thank you for contacting PayPal, my name is Joseph and it is my pleasure to
assist you.

I hope everything is well with you upon receiving this email.

I understand that you are enquiring about the denied payment using your
card, do not worry I will do my best to help you.

I reviewed the account carefully to find the best resolution to your
concern and to make things easier for you. I am hoping my email response
arrives just in time.

If you would like to view information about a denied payment transaction,
please follow these instructions:

Go to the PayPal website and log in to your account.

Click the 'History' subtab.

Click 'Details' for information about specific payment transactions

The Transaction Detail page will appear, enabling you to view details of
the transaction, including the reason it was denied.

The funds from the denied payment will be returned to the credit card or to
the PayPal Account balance, depending on the funding source used for the
payment. A credit to your credit card may take up to 30 days to process,
depending on your card issuer.

When Anything Points or Redemption Codes are used to fund a payment, which
is then refunded or reversed in any way, those points will be returned to
the buyer's Redemption Code balance upon completion of the refund/reversal.

I trust that I was able to address your concerns. To serve and assist you
is our top priority. Should you need further assistance, please feel free
to contact us back again.

Thank you for choosing PayPal. We really appreciate doing business with
you. Good day.

Sincerely,
Joseph

Rest assured they will hang on to that money as long as they possibly can.

Paypal will do all they can to hold onto your money - every extra day they have it is more interest in their pockets. They are dirty rotten thieves in my eyes.

And you're right Gary - it does! I guess it's something to do with their "be the customer's friend" guidelines.

Ah well i will just sit back and wait

I don't understand your problem with PayPal?

Within one day they have contacted you to assure you that the money will be returned following your error! Sounds like good service to me  If it takes a few days to get back to you? Why is that a problem

The problem is this is the only way i could buy the product, and my problem is all the other problems ive read about, when/if i get my cash back paypal is out the window deleted, im looking at the big picture splog there is 100s if not 1000s of unhappy paypal users, i dont see why mistake or no mistake it takes just a second to take your cash and possibly 30 days to returnt it:shake:

There may be 100s or 1000s of unhappy users, but how many per day are happy?

As for the delay in refund, it is to prevent fraud and money laundering.

I agree PayPal is rubbish with how much of a cut they take and the monopoly they have

.

Sorry, but I still can't see the point you're making  why not ask them the questions as per their response and contact the card supplier?

The opening remarks of their reply make me want to puke :puke:

It's remarkably similar to one that I received from a Dell service centre based in an eastern region of the world, famous for call centres.

Im happy to say i got my cash back this morning the account is now deleted:)

Don't banks and credit cards also take x number of days to credit back a refund?
So can't see a problem here. You got your money back in a couple of days.
Their (and ebay's) fees however ... that's another matter!!

Seems you like paypal i dont thats it 2 different opinions:)

It seems to me that Paypal in this situation have done nothing wrong. You make a mistake your payment is refused and Paypal credit your account and you now confirm you have your money. From the dates this has taken three or four days which is perfectly acceptable for electronic banking.
You made a mistake, Paypal correct it, whats your problem?
