I know that a lot of people have been caught out with the email that you have to send the item you've sold then they give you the money however I find this email very suspicious!

below is one I've just received and can't tell if it's a fake or not;

"Dear luke brannon,

Payment holds for new eBay sellers

As you're a new eBay seller, we'll temporarily hold the payment from each of your eBay transactions for up to 21 days. You'll then be able to access your money, providing you've posted the item to the address stated on the transaction details page and your buyer hasn't reported any problems.

Buy an eBay or PayPal postage label. After you've paid for your label, the amount you paid for postage will be released from your pending balance.

You may be able to access your money sooner if you:

Post the item with trackable postage such as Royal Mail Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery
Provide proof of postage and email tracking information to your buyer
Yours sincerely

Anyone shed some light on this subject?

Had someone email me after I paid for an item to leave feedback soon as i could so they could get their cash released, assume its some sort of safeguard to ensure new sellers are genuine

I started getting these messages after 5 years of being on paypal. the only way i was able to get rid of this problem was to start a new ebay account. I was not going to let goods go that were expensive without having the money in my hands.:thumbsdown:
