Just about to put a couple of items onto eBay - is anyone able to clarify their policies on accepting payments through Paypal. Is my understanding correct - that the money will not be released to me until the buyer is content with the items and has updated the feedback?

These will be a fair price (£150-£200) each and I don't particularly want to be caught up with an idiot that wants to try something, whilst being keen to stand behind what I am selling. I guess it is keeping some element of control.

Thanks,
Chris

it tends to do this if your a new seller or if its an expensive item.

i had it happen with something i sold for £300 last year, it didnt clear straight away as soon as they left feedback but a quick call to paypal got it cleared straight away.

what i dont understand is that often the amount paid on paypal includes the amount for postage so if i dont have much cash how can i afford postage before ive recieved the cash, the buyer has paid for the item so i guess to that end they have done thier job, however it is just paypal and ebay getting themselves involved for no reason

....b****r 'em then. I have no wish to try to get away with selling something defective, but have had issues with folk trying to pull a fast one. Hopefully then will learn soon.

Really?

I just couldn't imagine something as random as a cake stand being there LOL

I don't know, I just have some weird conception that it's uaully arty stuff in there (like camera equipment obviously, musical instruments, things accociated with the arts).

Nah theres all sorts of stuff in there ..........try it, it cant hurt

OK here goes

1 well worn male ,6'2" average looks, lots and lots of actuations, a bit frayed round't edges but still serviceable,
wife guarantees subject well nagged and house trained.
Would prefer pickup as post will be very dear (17 and half stone)

£500 BT or pay on collection.

PS.
Inspection only after payment
We have a no returns policy.

Tried the For Sale here - I needed to recover more money than the offers that came. Usually works though.

I think my mistake was to ask for what I wanted without building in wiggle room

I'll give Gumtree a go when I am strong enough and put the new camera on hold until they go.

I've sold Dangermouse1964 on here a few time but due to MOT failures, I had to keep refunding people:(
