Are there any UK distributors for Paul Buff gear? The 86" version looks an interesting animal at not a lot of cost. I note a few are doing versions over here, but not as big. They look well made for the price?

Not as far as I know, PCB don't like foreigners...
But don't worry about it, they're nothing special

PCB don't like foreigners...

One is always the foreigner of someone else!
What kind of remark or comment is that… in a
meant to be collegial forum?

I believe Garry meant that PCB never really had a desire to export out of the US, they’re happy to supply only the home market.

I appreciate to the highest degree your mediation here,
Phil  but though this is quite legitimate as it is their
marketing strategy but the way it was expressed…

It may have to do with the way they treat their business
partners or else… but I don't believe the chosen way to
express that opinion is coherent with what may be expec-
ted from a given maturity.

I don't use their products and it is not the company I want
to defend.

Respectfully yours, Phil!

That's exactly what I meant. For years, they refused to export at all, and it was even reported that they ignored orders from some U.S. states. They then allowed two small firms, one in Australia and one here, to re-sell their products for a while, then pulled the plug on that.

Can't help but feel it was a pretty stupid move, there was demand for their products and they could have had several different territories if they'd wanted them.

Saying all that as a casual observer though, maybe they had good justification but given the state of their kit I expect Godox to eat them up and spit out the remains.

Back to the OP, this looks like a decent alternative.
