So I've cleared my cache and with it went all of my cookies.
Next login to my Flickr account ... um no, wrong password ... let's go to reset password ... enter security questions and try a new password ... no sorry you've already used that one ... try another ... no you've used that as well ... try yet another ... no you've used that one before as well ... sorry we suspect your account has been compromised you are locked out ... please ring us in America :arghh:

So I remember my security questions, three of my past passwords yet I'm obviously trying to hack my account!
It's getting to the stage where security is defeating the whole purpose of day-to-day life!

Yes, the problem is that there are dozens of them - never use the same one and all that!
I'll take a look ... at keepass that is ... not Flickr ... I can't :rage:

Gramps i had the same problem if you send them an email they help you really well. took a couple of days but i got my account back i was crying as there where pictures on there i don't have on a hard drive since my split from my ex. but they were great and helped in every way they could.

"couple of days" - I should have guessed

Thanks Terri :)

Honest it was my fault more than their's as i didn't understand the instructions so they sent another email taking me through it in baby steps.. (yes i am that thick) hope you get it sorted soon.

I had an old flickr account set up using my real name several years ago. I could not access it as the password was forgotten and the email dead.
I asked them about it by email and a real person (!) spent quite some time in an email exchange to help me get the account live again.

For some reason, I have memory problems and couldn't get at my Flickr account for ages. Then I remembered that I had it in a different machine as a favourite. Logged in, chose to change password and now have the password written down so I can set up access on other machines. I could probably do similar for Farcebook but CBA!

I prefer a paper notebook for keeping my passwords.

I do something similar, hidden away, with the details (Bank, Paypal, etc) suitably vague for anyone else looking at them. A lot safer (IMO) than saving passwords on PC or online.

Well can't really grumble, had a response from support and now back in ... hate this "No you can't use that, you've used it before though".

At work we have to change our password every 2months but can't use the same one twice. It means that pretty much everyone just has a number in their password which they increase by 1 each time, but then you have to remember which number you've got up to! (I'm up to 36, lol)

if you cant remember passwords then keepass is for you.

I Like LastPass myself, I could come to your Computer and with a Visit to LastPass Web Site and entering Username and Password i would have access to all my Passwords on your Computer and a simple click it would be no longer available on your Computer.

I have two Flickr accounts now. My first was setup when I had BT broadband and I used the BT/Yahoo e-mail address. I don't have that any more and can't log in to it. No amount of messages to their support address gives me a solution.

Steve.

Steve.

I've had the same problem with a couple of accounts that I set up using mail address I no longer have access too, and no response to my requests to find a solution.

Try; customercare-en@cc.yahoo-inc.com

I had the same issue a few weeks ago
I was logged out for some reason & it wouldn't let me log back in. (after 4 failed attempts it freezes for 12 hrs!)
I think it was because the actual yahoo email acct that was set up initially to use Flickr, wasn't used (seen as inactive)

I contacted customer services to explain via email from my everyday Windows mail acct:
They responded fairly quickly (2-3 hrs) & after 3 or 4 emails back & forth on the same day (checking security questions, changing password etc) I was back on. I found them very helpful.

Someone said they were ditching the yahoo email accts?

that was my problem but they helped me get it sorted..

I use Keepass but, as has been said, unless I forward the saved database file to another computer I cant access my passwords unless Im at the originating machine. Also now with the iPad aswell I cant access passwords from that so have to write them down or something. Doh.
But even thats still better than having the same password for every site.

Do the same vagueness in keepass, plus it's encrypted :)
If it's encrypted does that mean you have to use a password?

What if you forget your password (again?) :D
.

I use KeePass but keep the database (encrypted) on Dropbox where I can connect to it on my NetBook and use KeePassDroid on my Android device, so all my passwords are synced.
There are several apps for iphones/ipads.
You could also use keyfiles copied to each device as well (or instead of) a password.
