Yes
My passport is due for renewal so I have begun the arduous slog of trying to get a suitable photograph done

Anyhoo, after much faffing around and rejected photos (due to head size being too small, shadows, etc.) I am taking them myself.

Could any of you lovely folk who have printed off your own passport photos recommend any decent papers that can be used? I am aware that the paper should have nothing printed on the back and should be 'low gloss' and no thicker than 180gsm.

Many thanks. And yes, staying at home would probably be the easiest answer but I have a wedding to go to in Spain in October

A medium weight gloss or semi gloss paper should do it. Keep the background plain and white if possible, shop it afterwards if not. Do not stand close to the background to avoid having heavy shadows behind you.
