Thinking of part exchanging my two cameras at Wex photography, have any of you used them before and do they give a good rate?

They seem to be very variable on what they offer for stuff, on some things they seem to over pay yet on other things there offers are insulting low. I have found that the whole process if getting a quote, sending and item in, them checking it and then crediting your account takes quite a while. They are definitely worth trying to a PX but I would also recommend trying MPB. I have found them easier to deal with and generally offer a very fair price.
 
As Peter says if you need/want to PX then try MPB - usually the best trade-in price you can get. But of course nothing beats a private sale if you can manage that.
 
A few things I've got quotes on from WEX have been incredibly high (if memory serves they offered more for my OMD than I've ever seen one go for on here) but the process is pretty slow and painful.

MPB are more consistent across the board with pricing and are incredibly quick. I've done PXs before where from quote email to receiving my new PXed gear has been 3 days.

Kimchimsun on eBay mentioned above are also very good, bought and sold a fair bit with them this year.

MPB give good prices but if you don't have the receipts they wont touch it (or thats how they have been with me) not sure if you need them with WEX or LCE etc

I've gone through at least 10 part-exs with MPB, they've never asked for a receipt. Most gear I've had has been used in the first place, so no paper trail to origin.

Sold my 5D 2 to them with no receipt, Was a while a go though.
 
Think they changed the rules, to do with moving stolen gear etc. I sold my siggy 300mm with no receipt. But last time I tried to sell my 7d and lenses they wanted receipts. I'd bought it all from forums so it was a no go for me.
