I started photography in September last year. My main interest is wildlife and sports photography,birds mainly and car racing, motorcycling,etc.. I have Nikon D7200 body, I mainly use a Tamron SP 24-70 F/2.8 Di VC USD. I have a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm F/1.4 G, which i've used only once. I also have a Nikon AF-S VR Micro Nikkor 105 F/2.8 G IF-ED again only used once. I also own a Sigma 150-600 F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM C with a Sigma APO 1.4x EX DG Teleconverter and I have the usb dock aswell.
What I'd like to ask is, is it worth part exchanging the Sigma lens, converter and usb. the Nikon 50mm, and the Nikon 105 for the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500 F/5.6 E ED VR and teleconverter.Thanks.
 
If you did decide to change lenses for the Nikon 200-500 I would try to sell them separately rather than part exchange as you would get a much better price. Once your post count is a bit higher you would be able to browse the classifieds to get an idea of what kind of money you could get.
 
As Chris said, sell individually but i'd keep the 24-70.

Why do you want the 200-500? The sigma should be near as dammit as good as the Nikon.
I have the Tamron 150-600 and I think it's just gas (gear acquisition syndrome) that I hanker for the 200-500 tbh.
 
Thanks Tom I'm keeping the 24-70 and only thinking of getting the Nikon. Can't make up my mind. That's why I asked part exchange or keep being fairly new to this photography lark lol

So am I, well around 18 months, big learning process for sure, please look at the threads on here and don't assume the newest is the best, it may be slightly better but there's old gear that is excellent.

Nikon is no better optically, weighs more and has less reach than your Sigma 150-600mm C so I wouldn't change if it was a straight swap, let alone trading in several lenses :eek:
