Hi just been introduced to this site, I've not heard of it and it seems cheap what's known about it?? Is it safe

I bought a canon lens from them about a month ago. Had no problems.

I bought a Sigma 150-500 OS from Panamoz on january 2nd and it was dispatched on the 3rd. I got an email with tracking number and received it on the 6th at around 1.30pm. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would recommend them highly. I'm waiting till the 5D3 is on the site to see the price as that may be the next item I order from them. I've recommended them to 3 friends who have all bought from them with similar service.

Just to update my post, I've just got a 60D from Panamoz for £593 delivered and is excellent, also ordered a Sigma 120-400 OS off them for £560 delivered and started out at over £700 on ebay for the same lens.

Just bought a 24-105 from there last Friday after seeing recommendations from Stuart and received it yesterday (Cheers Stuart, £175 cheaper than anywhere in UK I had seen). Would have got it on Thursday but wasn't in for delivery.

Would be interested to know if you got the 3 year Sigma warranty on this please?

Heather

Interesting. They are about £80 cheaper for the sigma lens I plan to buy next month

I just bought the 150-500 from them too, great service and quick delivery. The 3 year warranty is with them not Sigma (as it's a grey import), so any problems you send it back, there is a warrenty slip in the box.
For the amount of money I saved over the UK price I am happy with that.

Thanks for that.

I would rather pay the extra and have the Sigma warranty as several people I know have had focusing issues with this and the 50-500mm requiring warranty work.

The warranty is with Sigma, it's just that you either have to send it to Panamoz and they send it to Sigma, or you can send it straight to Sigma Hong Kong and they will do the work there and then. The only focussing issues with mine so far has been the need for it to be MA'd with my 7D, I've had no other problems at all.

After all your recommendations I just tried to fire the trigger... and turns out it only accepts paypal with a linked CREDIT card, i use debit.. so that's me stuffed. I've emailed them to see if they have an alternative they accept.

They say they accept debt cards. You can always pay by bank transfer and get a 5% discount aswell.

Does anyone know if you can get the £80 Nikon cash back deal with these guys? Brings a D7000 down to £693!

Is that not being a touch greedy?

They will be classed as grey imports so I think not.

Had a read through on their site and all looks pretty good. The only thing that slightly worries me is that they're offices are in Catford (South London) and the contact number is 01273 which, I think, is Brighton??? Not sure why it puts me off but it does seem a bit weird.

Where did you find their Catford address? I can't see it on their site. Mostly, they're referring to being in Hong Kong.

The only UK address I could locate on their site is Unit 36, 88-90 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8PG on their FAQ page, not on the Contact or About pages where perhaps you might expect it

http://panamoz.com/index.php/faq

Which is a virtual (mail forwarding) address, not a genuine office

The Panamoz Ltd UK company, registered in Catford, London SE6 in 2009, was struck off and dissolved in January this year

A quick check at Companies House shows they never filed any UK accounts, which is probably why they were struck off.

I recently purchased a lens from Panamoz.
I paid by bank transfer, received a 5% discount.
The lens shipped from HK with a tracking number, and arrived well packaged.
I am very pleased with my purchase as it was even cheaper than ebay secondhand models, and way cheaper than anywhere else that I looked for new.

The lens I purchased is the 70-300L and is sharper than a sharp thing

Pretty sure it was the companies house site that I saw the catford address. I didn't look any further as it seemed to require payment to view the documents relating to Panamoz. Does the fact they have been struck off make them any more risky to use?

No probably just means they created a uk division (easy and very cheap to do) and then realised its not worth using due to tax reasons.

A 5% saving on their prices is too good to miss, you have to email them with your requirements then they send you an invoice with the bank details on.

Just do it :)

Just did this and ordered a Nikon 24 1.4 and uv filter, 1289.14 delivered

Let us know how you get on! Good to see you've finally managed to source one

straight after that I got an offer for £1200, typical!

They've confirmed payment and said it'll ship in 24hrs

That neatly removes the protection that paying with a credit card would afford you should a problem arise........

I've been shopping around over the last few days and found digital rev extremely competitive with Panamax in terms of pricing. Personally will be ordering through dr as a member on here.

Not on my item, but otherwise they seem a good choice

Well it arrived this morning, super prompt if you ask me. Well packed, and here's a shot I just took with it. Shot wide open, therefore 1.4, auto iso. Into a dark bathroom....

I have a feeling it's gonna be a great purchase.

I'll be shooting a Mehndi party (part of a hindu wedding, that i'm covering this week) with it tonight.
