Paralympics.......

I just heard the brilliant - but very poignant - Alex Zanardi news!

Back in 1991 I watched him take pole at Brands in his Il Barone Rampante F3000 Reynard! But that day he was only second in the race.

I was watching the Champ Car race from the Lausitzring live when he had his horror crash. It's incredible that he survived. Reading (CART medical director) Steve Olney's account of the aftermath and stabilization is harrowing.
One week later I went to Rockingham to watch them race there. Those Champ Cars made F1 cars look like toys. Am really pleased for Zanardi.

Is anyone else addicted to the Paralympics? I know I am! What the hell are we going to do when it's all over? :'(

Unfortunately the c4 coverage compared to the bbc has meant I've seen pretty much nothing. Streaming still not working for me at home or at work so I've missed a lot of events I'd like to have seen.

Petition the BBC to stop paying stupid money for football (leave that to Sky) and to regularly show all the sports that we only get to see once every four years. And Channel 4 to maintain their coverage of Paralympic sports throughout the year - and the likes of Sainsburys to continue to support the coverage.

I can remember when most football matches were only covered by a phone-in commentator/summariser and you had sports like basketball, etc included on Grandstand.

Sarah Storey wins her 4th gold of the games in the Road Race. What a performance!

I remember going to the swimming in Atlanta in 1996 and seeing her win one of her 3 golds at that games and thinking then that she was pretty special but for her to transfer to cycling and continue performing at the highest level is nothing short of outstanding.

Can't wait for the athletics tonight, Johnnie Peacock and Oscar Pistorius in the T44 100m should be good!

Outstanding!

Up to 105 medals now and a good chance for 2 more golds tonight with David Weir and Johnnie Peacock.

Come on Team GB!

Gold for Weir and Peacock in the last 30 minutes! Brilliant!

I'm even more addicted now than I was yesterday. Fantastic stuff in the stadium.

Or, put all the football on a new dedicated channel (BBC5 perhaps). A couple of weeks ago I counted 6 hours of football on mainstream BBC channels in a single day (and double that if you include Radio 5 Live).

Don't think I'll be watching the closing ceremony.
Coldplay:gag: and Rihanna singing along with Coldplay:gag:
Had the misfortune of hearing them rehearsing today next to us at work, while the dancers and other performers were rehearsing their parts.

what kind of level of visual impairment would a T13 sprinter have?

Obviously T11 is totally / nearly totally blind and would need a guide....

It would have been s13 if it was swimming. The letter in the classification is for the sport.

S - swimming
T - track
F -field

It has been a fabulous paralympics, already feeling a bit meh about the fact that its back to channel hopping on Monday to find something decent on any channel to have as background noise while working. :(
