Paper Lens hoods - useful website?

Sweet idea. For added value, trace the shape on thermoset, bend it, bake it, and you have your own bakelite lens hood!!
 
Humm...... I've seen this site has come up a few times across various forums. I actually tried making a couple of hoods from this site a year or so ago. Never had much success but that could have been my own lack of finesse as much as anything else. There's also the point that many people use the plastic hood as a means of protection for the lens itself and these aren't going to offer much in that respect.

One word: polystyrene (and not the expanded polystyrene you get in boxes). Works well for this kind of thing.
