I would appreciate any views on the best devices for cutting photo paper up to A2 size.

I have looked on Ebay and in other places at guillotines as well as trimmers. You can spend a little or a lot of money. Any pointers would be very welcome. I am not talking a large volume of work but I do want good edges and proper right angles!

:thankyou:

I got a cheap A4 one from hobbycraft, and to be fair it was pants, the first one I got didn't even cut straight! So it is probably worth going to a proper art shop, or maybe where schools get their kit from if you want something robust...

I generally think that you are better off with the trimmers, which have the wheel that goes across, then the guillotines (that have an arm that cuts down), as you are less likely to get marks on the edge of the paper. But if you get the cheapest ones either will likey leave marks on some of your prints.

If you've a lot to do get a rotary cutter, it will be money well spent.

Not to say you can't find better prices by shopping around - it's just to give an idea of the type. I wouldn't use anything else.

I'm with CT on this as I've tried a few cheap makes and it's a waste of time.

It must be rotary and a decent quality so forget the £20 stuff. How much you spend will relate to usage but it's one of the few things that is worth spending a little extra on.
