I have a panorama would like to print at 100" x 16"

Has anyone used DS Colourlabs or Loxley to do a print this size? Would you recommend them or any other printers?

Thanks in advance for you help

Let's be sure we understand what you're asking. 100"? As in, a bit more than 8 feet?

Have you spoken to either of them. This does not seem to be size they do although there might be a specialist part of their website i've missed.

What @Jim_Tod said basically, ask them not us.

The largest size on their website for Fuji large photographic prints is 49.5" wide. Now I don't know if this is the largest sheet of paper they do or just an example size/price that people rarely go above. You would think that from a printing point of view the height of the landscape image would limit the print size due to the physical width of the printer. No such issues with yours as it's very low. (Next time consider shooting your pano images in the vertical)

To answer your question though assuming your native resolution at 100" wide is 300ppi then it will literally look as finely detailed as a single native resolution print from your camera. Just a lot wider. I've had panos printed by dscl that are 49.5" wide and they look excellent.

Word of warning though if you are new to printing I'd recommend you crop out at 300ppi say a 12" x 8" from the pano and order a test print of a small section of it. To make sure your workflow is good and you are happy with it before committing to the expensive pano.

Thanks for your replies, guys. Much appreciated

Believe it or not, this was shot in the vertical,it's just a very wide vista to shoot.

It is at 300ppi and the detail when zoomed in looks really good on screen.

I am loving the tip about sending off a small test print. Excellent idea, thanks.

I'll let you know how I get on

The next job will be finding a decent framer :)

Might be worth talking to some framers first for advice, even jumbo mountboard only comes in at 64" x 44" so you might not find anywhere that could do a traditional look with a mount, I'm a framer and I wouldn't be able to help you if you wanted it framed that way.

Perhaps a canvas is the better way to go? No glass and no mount makes it a lot easier to frame I can tell ya!

We print from rolls of paper as do a lot of printers so a 100 inch print wouldn't be a problem at all, framing on the other hand would be an absolute pain!
